The arts desk is a British online professional art critic website. As the new decade is now upon us, the arts desk like many others is gathering and selecting publications of the year. Theartsdesk.com presents both the best and the worst of 2009, we will obviously let you know about the best. Focusing mainly on the photography book selection by Sue Steward, who works for the Telegraph, Observer, Guardian, BBC and British Journal of Photography. She is also responsible of the photography area at the arts desk. Daniele Tamagni’s debut monograph Gentlemen of Bacongo, which is given great presence on the site coincides with the next issue (Feb-March) of HotShoe Magazine which featured an interview of Tamagni by Bill Kouwenhoven. Moreover, Sue Steward has also placed in her top choice, Paradise Lost and Found by Emily Andersen, a book published by HotShoe Books. Her work deals with past into present images of Eastern Europe abandoned spaces. This is an honor for both the photographer and HotShoe to be recognized by this esteemed review website.
