Michael Mack is a photography and art book publisher of renown. Based in Denmark Street, the Tin Pan Alley of London, his office is approached via an insalubrious staircase, to the accompanying base beat from the drum shop below. The doors open onto two bright, white, very busy offices – the hub for MACK and the digital arm, MAPP.

Mack was Managing Director at Steidl for many years and has a deep understanding of both the creative dynamics and the business of publishing. So the creation of his own imprint in November 2010 (and MAPP in May 2011), with its commitment to producing uncompromising work in close collaboration with artists, is underpinned by an economic realism and a formidable press and distribution network.
