The Photographers’ Gallery’s FreshFaced+WildEyed 2013 exhibition opens in two weeks time. The annual show is now in its sixth year, and aims to showcase the best emerging talent from photographic courses across the UK.

This year, 22 graduates have been selected for display from a judging panel of  industry professionals including Eileen Perrier, artist and lecturer; Zoe Pilger, art critic for The Independent; Niru Ratnam, Head of Gallery Development at Art13 London and Brett Rogers, Director of The Photographers' Gallery.  A small group of finalists will also be offered further development opportunities through the Gallery’s mentorship scheme.

The exhibiting work spans genres across the photographic field, and the show will incorporate the gallery’s digital display “The Wall” for the first time in light of this.

Brett Rogers commented that this year’s judging was tough, but that the final selection of artists, all display “a propensity to explore a broad range of issues from the political to the personal, approached with imagination, conceptual rigour and visual flair”.
